Our school values highly on children’s interactive learning process and experience, we use mix-age approach to design the different corners and environments in the classrooms (children aged 2-4 as small group, children aged 4-6 as big group). The environmental design of the classroom and the teaching aids displayed in the corners have different degrees of difficulty and levels, allowing children with different abilities to explore and manage various learning materials from easy to difficult extent, encouraging children to explore proactively, imitate each other and participate in different learning activities, so as to foster the important qualities of peer collaboration and care.
Our school values and actively cultivate children’s ability to take care of themselves and work independently. Our curriculum has included the Practical Life programme of the ‘Montessori Education’. We have set up a life training corner in the classroom, to equip with various teaching aids which allow children to do different levels of life skills training according to their development and performance. Teachers will also provide specific demonstration and guidance in due course. In daily activities, teachers will encourage and guide children to help tidy up and clean the classroom, such as cleaning the table, sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, turning the bedsheet etc.
Our school emphasises on the physical development of the children. Children of every class will participate in various physical games every day, including circular games, group games, gross motor skills activities etc. The difficulty level of the games has taken into account the developmental needs of every age group and also the uniqueness of different children’s physical development. Besides the gross motor skills activities, each class will have outdoor physical activities arranged every week, allowing children to conduct physical activities under the sun and explore and learn with a positive and satisfying mood.
